Julie Meier Wright is a retired CEO of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, a former California Secretary of Trade & Commerce, a senior fellow of the U.S. Council on Competitiveness and of the California Council on Science & Technology. She consults on public affairs, marketing, and strategy, and is a strategic advisor to Collaborative Economics. She is also co-founder of the California Economic Summit, advisor to the Okinawa Institute of Science & Technology, and CEO of a San Diego startup spun out of UC San Diego. She served on the Sharp HealthCare Board for nine years and was named director of the year for Not-for-Profit Boards and for Companies in Transition by Corporate Directors Forum. She is on the board of the Jacobs School of Engineering and the Calit2 at UC San Diego. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the Stanford University Advanced Management College.
