Doris Bittar

Doris Bittar is an international visual artist, writer, educator, and civil rights organizer. Bittar immigrated as a child from Lebanon to New York. She has lived in San Diego for 34 years. Bittar began on the East Coast as a union organizer. Her experience with labor, peace and civil rights organizing has helped to forge community alliances. She is the current California Organizer for the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) and ADC’s Southern California regional coordinator. Bittar received an MFA from the University of California San Diego and a BFA from the State University of New York.
