Abby Hamblin

Abby Hamblin is the guides editor for The San Diego Union-Tribune and has also worked at the publication as an opinion editor and producer, engagement editor and editorial board member. Her work also includes overseeing Pacific San Diego and its biweekly newsletters, web editing and audience engagement efforts such as news alerts, live blogging and social media. She has also worked as an audience engagement editor for Southern California News Group and a city government reporter for The Santa Maria Times. Hamblin earned a journalism degree from Point Loma Nazarene University, where she has also served as an adjunct professor. She has won several awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for reporting and digital publishing, including a first place podcast in the audio division, first place b the digital division, and the 2021 Diversity Prize.
