
Carruth Cellars Urban Winery will host its second annual Summer Solstice Barrel Tasting Party on Saturday. June 21, at the Liberty Station Tasting Room & Wine Garden Cheese Shop (2710 Historic Decatur, Barrack 17, San Diego, 92106).
For $76 per person, attendees will have the opportunity to sample 12 wines straight from the barrel, as well as enjoy pizza by California Poppy Cafe and live music from local artists. They will also have access to purchase “futures” with discounts up to 50% off. Futures is a term used in the wine industry when buying wine still in barrel; once it’s bottled in the fall, attendees are ed to pick-up their wine. This year Carruth Cellars will be offering tastes of its 2023 and 2024 wines, including:

The event is split into two sessions on Saturday, June 21: Early Bird: 12 – 3:30 p.m. (music by DJ Tykes); Night Owl: 5 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (music by Lissa Dee).
Tickets include: 12 tastes from the barrel on the garden patio, a souvenir glass, wood fired pizza, live music and exclusive access to futures

Liberty Station Tasting Room will be closed for the event. This is a 21-plus event, no children, dogs or outside food allowed. Discounts on tickets are available for Wine Club .Carruth Cellars is the largest urban winery in San Diego, they source their fruit from Northern California and make their wines by the beach in San Diego, according to a news release.
