
Trenton Brooks nearly beat Albuquerque by himself.
The Granite Hills High product homered twice and drove in six runs, leading Triple-A El Paso to an 8-6 win on Saturday night.
Brooks’ second blast was a grand slam and pushed his homer total to 12, tops in the Padres system.
His 49 RBIs also leads the system. The 29-year-old is hitting .303/.411/.582 through 55 games with El Paso.
Designated hitter Yonathan Perlaza (.810 OPS) hit his fifth homer.
Right-hander Bryan Hoeing (1-0, 13.50 ERA) earned the win despite allowing two runs in 1⅓ innings in relief in his third rehab appearances.
Right-hander Ron Marinaccio (4.74 ERA) saved his third game with three strikeouts and a walk in the ninth inning.
Left-hander Jackson Wolf (3.68 ERA) allowed four runs in four innings in the start.

Modesto 7, Storm 1: RHP Johan Moreno (1-4, 7.52 EA) allowed three runs in four innings in the loss. The only Storm hits were singles from 3B Zach Evans (.799 OPS) and CF Ryan Wilson (.677 OPS). DH Victor Figueroa (.915 OPS) went 0-for-1 with three walks.

Padres 8, Brewers 7: 2B Luis De Leon (.781 OPS) went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. RF Jesmaylin Arias (.591 OPS) doubled twice. DH Kale Fountain (.770 OPS) went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. RHP Ruben Galindo (9.00 ERA) struck out three over three scoreless innings. LHP Yovannki Pascual (1-1, 6.14 ERA) struck out two over two scoreless innings in the win.

El Paso (AAA): RHP Reiss Knehr is sidelined with elbow inflammation and currently in Arizona working through a rehab program. Knehr, 28, is 8-for-9 in save chances and has a 2.70 ERA in 16 2/3 innings to start this first season back from Tommy John surgery.
San Antonio (AA): RHP Braden Nett, 22, is 3-3 with 51 strikeouts and a 3.92 Era in 43 2/3 innings. He has walked 22 and held hitters to a .241 batting average. Nett is ranked No. 9 in the organization by MLB.com.
Fort Wayne (A+): RHP Sean Barnett, who is developing as a two-way player, made his mound debut on Wednesday, retiring all three hitters he faced. He is hitting .255/.365/.412 with one homer and 10 RBIs in 17 games as a DH with the TinCaps.
Lake Elsinore (A): LHP Kash Mayfield (4.43 ERA) struck out four over two no-hit innings on Wednesday in his first appearance since shoulder discomfort sidelined him on May 13. Last year’s first-rounder has struck out 31 against nine walks in 22 1/3 innings.
ACL Padres (R): RHP Humberto Cruz, 18, has a 5.19 ERA through 8 2/3 innings, as he’s struck out nine and walked four. Cruz is ranked No. 4 in the system by MLB.com
DSL Padres (R): SS Deivid Coronil, 17, is hitting .385/.529/.385 with four walks through his first four games as a pro. Coronol is ranked No. 22 in the system by MLB.com. He signed in January out of Venezuela for $900,000.
