Mason McCoy homered again on his rehab assignment, powering Triple-A El Paso’s 14-9 win over visiting Albuquerque.

In all, McCoy drove in four runs on two hits but also struck out four times.

McCoy is hitting .313/.391/.531 with three homers in 27 games at Triple-A El Paso. He started the year in the minors before dislocating his pinky while in the majors with the Padres.

Catcher Cody Roberts (.904 OPS) hit his first homer and designated hitter Trenton Brooks (.963 OPS) drove in three runs on three doubles.

Right fielder Yonathan Perlaza (.802 OPS) and left fielder Tirso Ornelas (.839 OPS) both had three hits and second baseman Clay Dungan (.745 OPS) and first baseman Tim Locastro (.966 OPS) had two hits.

Left-hander Omar Cruz (3.21 ERA) allowed three runs in 4⅓ innings.

Right-hander Alek Jacob (27.00 ERA) allowed four runs — three earned — without recording an out.

Right-hander Harold Chirino (3.73 ERA) closed the game with two scoreless innings.

El Paso is 31-30.

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (30-25)

Missions 4, Midland 2: RHP Braden Nett (3-3, 3.92 ERA) struck out six and allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk in five innings. RHP Carter Loewen (2.38 ERA) threw two shutout innings. SS Francisco Acuña (.766 OPS) drove in two runs on three hits, including a double. DH Addison Kopack (.858 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a steal and two runs scored. LF Wyatt Hoffman (.381 OPS) went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a walk, a run scored and a stolen base.

 

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (28-27)

TinCaps 3, Beloit 0: RHP Miguel Mendez (2-1, 2.45 ERA) struck out seven and over six shutout innings, scattering three hits and two walks in the win. LHP Harry Gustin (2.04 ERA) earned his third save with six strikeouts over three shutout innings. SS Leo De Vries (.757 OPS) went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. DH Sean Barnett (.809 OPS) went 2-for-4.

 

LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (27-28)

Modesto 4, Storm 1: RHP Abraham Parra (1-2, 5.87 ERA) allowed three runs in five innings in the loss. A double from C Lamar King Jr. (.763 OPS) was the Storm’s only extra-base hit and RBI.

 

ROOKIE ACL PADRES (6-19)

Padres 9, White Sox 8: SS Luis De Leon (.754 OPS) drove in three runs on his first homer and stole two bases. 3B Kevin Hacen (.488 OPS) drove in three runs on a double. CF Donte Grant (.643 OPS) went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

 

ROOKIE DSL BROWN (3-1)

Athletics 6, Padres 1: RHP Kelvin Marte (1-1, 1.80 ERA) allowed two runs — one earned — in four innings in the start. RHP Jose Montijo (54.00 ERA) allowed four runs in two-thirds of an inning.

 

ROOKIE DSL GOLD (2-2)

Rays 4, Padres 3: LHP Edwyn Hernandez (0.00 ERA) struck out five over four shutout innings in relief. 3B Deivid Coronil (.914 OPS) went 2-for-3 with a walk. 1B Kevin Tamburini (1.122 OPS) went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored.
