Re “California prostate cancer screening guidelines are outdated” (May 28): Great op-ed on prostate cancer screening. As a prostate cancer survivor, I could not agree more with the authors’ recommendations on earlier and regular PSA screenings. I am alive and with my family today because of regular PSA screenings and excellent treatment. When I hear some doctors suggest that screenings should be limited to the elderly, I just shake my head and wonder how people in the medical profession could care so little about the lives of so many.
