Encinitas Wine & Food Festival returns June 7

Once again, it’s time to Sip, Savor and at the Encinitas Wine & Food Festival. The popular event is celebrating its 22nd anniversary on Saturday, June 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the VIP event starting at 3 p.m., at the scenic Encinitas Ranch Golf Course.This signature North County event brings together the best in local cuisine, fine wines, craft brews, and community giving — all set against a stunning coastal backdrop. Attendees will enjoy tastings from 50+ local restaurants, wineries, breweries, and spirit vendors, live music by Celeste Barbier, and the chance to mingle with fellow food and wine lovers.But beyond the culinary experience, this event is about giving back. Encinitas Cruise Nights

The Encinitas 101 MainStreet Association has started its 26th annual presentation of Encinitas Cruise Nights, including new and familiar car clubs and awesome local live bands.

The series is held on the third Thursday of May through September, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p,m. Future Cruise Nights this year will be held on June 19, July 17, Aug. 21, and Sept. 18. As always, Encinitas 101 welcomes all classic and vintage vehicles to this free monthly event, where drivers take spaces along Coast Highway 101 and in adjacent parking lots, or simply cruise up and down the main street. San Diego Italian Film Festival to feature ‘Orlando’ at La Paloma Theatre

San Diego Italian Film Festival presents Orlando on Thursday, June 12, 7 p.m. at La Paloma Theatre, Encinitas. Orlando is an aged musician from a small town in central Italy who lost his wife years ago and now lives alone, playing the accordion at weddings and working the land. Valerio, his only child, left for Brussels soon after his mother’s death, which led Orlando to cut all ties with him.

However, when he reaches out to his father to ask for help, Orlando feels he must oblige. For the first time in his life, he leaves the town and travels to Brussels to see Valerio, only to arrive when it is too late. His son is dead, leaving behind a nine-year-old daughter, Lyse. Now, a new life for Orlando awaits…

Switchfoot Bro-Am concert

Switchfoot Bro-Am returns for its 21st year, with the Benefit Party and then the Beach Fest, celebrating music, surfing and community while raising money for San Diego youth beneficiaries. The Benefit Party will kick off the festivities from 6 to 10 p.m. on June 19, followed by the free, family-friendly Beach Fest from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 21 at Encinitas’ Moonlight Beach. Encinitas Guitar Orchestra to hold ‘Through the Ages’ concert

The Encinitas Guitar Orchestra, under the direction of Peter Pupping, invites all on a musical journey June 6 at 7:30 p.m. themed Through the Ages. This unique concert will feature a 35-member guitar ensemble performing a chronological program that spans centuries of musical history.

The evening begins in the Renaissance with works by John Dowland, followed by selections from Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto and Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. The program then transitions into the Romantic and modern eras with Manuel de Falla’s La Vida Breve and Isaac Albéniz’s iconic Asturias, arranged for guitar orchestra. The journey concludes with powerful renditions of Holst’s Jupiter, Mason Williams’ Classical Gas, and Pat Metheny’s Awakening.The event will take place at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (925 Balour Dr., Encinitas). Batiquitos Lagoon presentation: ‘Saving Our Waterways’

Batiquitos Lagoon will hold a presentation on June 14 titled “Saving Our Waterways,” given by Navy Mckee, CEO of Kai Pono Solutions She has invented a storm drain filtration device to work within the water infrastructure while also tracking flow rates, contaminants, and maintenance cycles. This free, family event is good for adults and kids age 12 and older. Space is limited and is first come, first served. It’s recommended to come 15 minutes early to secure a seat. Roy Jenuine: Modern Folk Art exhibit in Solana Beach

Leucadia-based mixed media artist Roy Jenuine will host an exhibit – Roy Jenuine: Modern Folk Art – in Solana Beach, showcasing a lifetime of work from 1978 through today. El Camino Quilters Guild meeting features guest speaker

‘United in Praise!’ t spring concerts in Solana Beach and La Jolla

On Sunday, June 15, the choirs of Solana Beach Presbyterian Church and La Jolla Presbyterian Church will be ing forces to present two performances of “United in Praise” at 4 p.m. in La Jolla and 7 p.m. in Solana Beach.

These concerts will feature diverse musical selections that illustrate the power of communal worship and reconciling love. With the music of the combined choir and instrumental ensembles, the aim is to foster love and unity through God’s healing gift of art, according to a news release.

Concerts at Calvary presents Classic Jazz, Four Hands

Concerts at Calvary will present “Classic Jazz, Four Hands” on Tuesday, June 10, 6:30 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church (424 Via de la Valle, Solana Beach). Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi — playing together on one piano —will perform jazz classics, boogie-woogie and show tunes for a lively evening of music. A camera trained on the piano from above will allow the audience to see how this couple navigates the keyboard to make great music together, according to a news release.
