The Pacific Beach Kiwanis Club recently honored four students through its “Student of the Month” recognition program.
The May honorees were Layla DeWalls, a fourth grader at Crown Point Junior Music Academy; Carlos Figueroa, a fourth grader at Pacific Beach Elementary; Steven Jensen, a fifth grader at Barnard Mandarin Magnet Elementary; and Isabellle Smith, a fourth grader at Sessions Elementary.
They received a certificate and Mr. Frostie dollars, which the business donated. The Kiwanis club honors students who were nominated by their teachers for exhibiting leadership skills and being a good role model to peers.
The club’s goal is to honor students at Barnard, Kate Sessions and Pacific Beach elementary schools and Crown Point Junior Music Academy. For nomination details, teachers can Kiwanian Tony Bayona at 305-525-0791.
