San Diego State’s 2025 football schedule gained some clarity Thursday, when the Mountain West announced its national television schedule for thls season.
Broadcast networks for nine of 12 SDSU games and kickoff times for seven contests are now known.
Most of the games will be televised on CBS Sports Network or Fox Networks, the Mountain West’s primary broadcast partners.
Four games have 7:30 p.m. start times on CBSSN: The team’s Sept. 20 game against Cal, Oct. 3 game against Colorado State, Oct. 11 game at Nevada and Nov. 15 game against Boise State.
The Aztecs also have a 7:15 p.m. game Sept. 6 at Washington State (The CW), a Nov. 1 game against Wyoming (CBSSN) with a 4 p.m. kickoff and a Nov. 28 game at New Mexico with a 12:30 p.m. PT kickoff.
SDSU is still without a kick time or broadcast partner for its season opener against Stony Brook on Aug. 28 — a rare Thursday contest — at Snapdragon Stadium.
The Aztecs typically target a 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. kickoff to start the year.
SDSU plays one FCS opponent annually. The game is never picked up by a partner network, so the Aztecs attempt to find a local television station. In those years where a deal is not made, the game is streamed.
Last year’s season opener against Texas A&M-Commerce started at 5 p.m. and was shown on truTV/MAX.
SDSU’s other home game this season — Nov. 22 against San Jose State — will be broadcast on a Fox platform. A start time was not revealed.
An Oct. 25 game at Fresno State also will be shown on by Fox and also needs a start time.
It is not unusual for Fox to wait until two weeks before the game to lock in a kickoff time.
Neither broadcast networks nor kick times were revealed for road games Sept. 27 at Northern Illinois and Nov. 8 at Hawaii.
The Colorado State contest was moved from Saturday to Friday. The Aztecs also will play on a Friday in the regular season finale Nov. 28 at New Mexico.
The schedule includes off weeks on the third and eighth weeks of the season, giving the Aztecs two opportunities to rest before heading into the second half of the season.
The Mountain West will be configured as one 12-team conference for the third straight season, with the top two finishers meeting Dec. 5 in the conference championship game.
SDSU, which finished 3-9 last season, began summer conditioning this week. The Aztecs start fall practice the last week of July.
