Local governments and the state need to laws prohibiting curbside and intersection island soliciting. I have witnessed two accidents due to solicitors.

The first accident occurred on the driveway of a shopping mall where a young woman with a child in a stroller was standing in a right turn and bicycle lane, leading to a car striking a bicyclist. Thank goodness no one was hurt. The woman responsible left the scene and would not respond to being asked to stay until police arrived.

The second occurred at a four-way intersection with four solicitors distracting drivers and leading to a car being rear-ended as a result.

These people are a danger to drivers and to themselves and should be prohibited from soliciting. I also suspect nearly all are scammers. Cities and counties need to do something to stop this.
