Excitement filled the air at Solana Pacific Elementary School in Carmel Valley as Cub Scout Pack 734 hosted their thrilling Raingutter Regatta. Scouts from all ages raced their handmade sailboats down 10-foot water filled gutters, powered only by their breath. The fast paced races kept everyone on the edge of their seats as boats zipped and splashed toward the finish line.
More than just a race, the event was a hands on adventure where Scouts discovered how wind and water work, all while cheering on their friends and showing great teamwork, according to a news release.
Pack 734 invites boys and girls from Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Solana Beach, and Encinitas to the fun. Sponsored by the Optimist Club of Del Mar – Solana Beach, the pack meets monthly and offers exciting activities that build leadership, teamwork, and lasting friendships.
