
Re “San Diego’s unpopular ADU incentive ‘has been exploited’ by developers, needs ‘guardrails,’ planners say” (May 1): I saw your recent article on the ”unpopular” ADU incentive program. I live in Mira Mesa, and I’ve seen a bunch of ADUs of various sizes go up in my neighborhood — and I think they’re great! San Diego desperately needs more housing — especially affordable housing — and if people are willing to spend their own money to literally build it in their own back yard (the ultimate in “YIMBY”), we should both allow and encourage that.
