CIF San Diego Section Boys Tennis Championships

When: Saturday

ission: Free

Division 1: (4) Patrick Henry vs. (3) La Jolla, 3 p.m.

Where: Lake Murray Tennis Club

Preview: La Jolla is the defending Division 1 champion. The Vikings beat Carlsbad 10-8 in the semifinals. Henry beat top-seeded Bishop’s 13-5 in the semis.

Division 2: (1) Valhalla vs. (2) Mater Dei Catholic, noon

Where: Lake Murray Tennis Club

Preview:  Valhalla beat West Hills (13-5), High Tech High (13-5) and La Costa Canyon 10-8 to advance to the championship match. Mater Dei cruised past Santana 17-1, edged Sage Creek (9-9, 75-72 in total games) then handled Eastlake 13-5 to reach the title match. Mater Dei Catholic is the reigning D2 champion.

Division 3: (1) Valley Center vs. (3) Christian, 2 p.m.

Where: Canyon Crest Academy

Preview: Valley Center knocked off San Pasqual (14-4), Fallbrook (13-5) and Mission Bay (14-4) to reach the title match. Christian beat Castle Park, Rancho Buena Vista and Hilltop all by the same 11-7 score. Mission Bay won the D3 title last season. The CIF San Diego Section individual championships will be held next week.
