San Diego police are investigating a shooting on Vacation Isle on Mission Bay that left one person injured Tuesday morning, a police spokesperson said.

One person was being detained by officers.

The shooting was reported around 11:30 a.m. and occurred at public bathrooms near a parking lot on Vacation Road near Ingraham Street, near the Paradise Point resort, police said. It was unclear what led up to the shooting, said Sgt. Ariel Savage.

One person suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and was transported to a hospital. Their condition was not immediately known.

Savage said officers were interviewing witnesses. He also didn’t have any information on the gender of the victim or the person detained.
