The Pacific Beach Kiwanis Club recently honored a student from Sessions Elementary through its “Student of the Month” recognition program.

The April honoree was Johnie Gail Nguyen, a fifth grader at Sessions.

She received a certificate and Mr. Frostie dollars, which the business donated. The Kiwanis club honors students who were nominated by their teachers for exhibiting leadership skills and being a good role model to peers.

The club’s goal is to honor students at Barnard, Kate Sessions and Pacific Beach elementary schools and Crown Point Junior Music Academy. For nomination details, teachers can Kiwanian Tony Bayona at 305-525-0791.
