A 39-year-old man died early Saturday after the vehicle he was driving veered off a Jamul road and overturned, California Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Skyline Truck Trail, near Castle Peak Lane, on the eastern edge of Jamul, officials said.
Adrian Mangiavillano, of Spring Valley, was traveling eastbound when the 2015 Toyota Highlander veered off the roadway, overturned and landed on its roof, officials said.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and it was unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors.
