A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night when he was struck by a vehicle in Rolando Village, San Diego police said.

The crash was reported around 7:15 p.m. on El Cajon Boulevard east of 63rd Street, officials said.

The victim was found in eastbound traffic, police officials said. He was subsequently pronounced dead. His name and age have not been released pending notification of family.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained on scene following the crash and provided a statement to police, officials said.

The incident remains under investigation.
