The Solana Beach-based Kingdom Builder Foundation recently gave $68,000 in grants to seven nonprofits helping people in the San Diego area and across the border in Baja, Mexico. Grants typically range from $500 to $10,000.

Amor Ministry will use its grant to provide three months of food to 450 needy families in Baja. Generate Hope, based in Coronado, will provide medication, food, clothing, medical care and basic necessities for survivors of sex trafficking in a long-term restorative care program.

Hope for San Diego will form a community of young Christian leaders in San Diego through regular events and mentorship. New Day Urban Ministries will provide 8,200 hygiene kits and 15,600 underwear items for homeless children, women and men and those living in halfway homes or seeking refuge in San Diego.

Pathways to Citizenship based in Solana Beach will use the grant to expand its legal and educational services to Vista and Escondido with trained legal volunteers, upgraded software and a newly accredited legal representative. Urban Life Ministries, Inc., based in City Heights, will provide weekly English Language Development enrichment programs, after-school academic tutoring and college prep programs for low- to moderate-income youths.

Wellness Ministry in Solana Beach will fund a Solana Beach Presbyterian Church Wellness Night for teens, parents, and grandparents, featuring two national speakers.

The foundation s Christ-centered missions and is funded by legacy gifts from and friends of the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church. The deadline for Spring grant applications is April 28.
