Shelter to Soldier will host its 6th Annual ‘Saving Lives, One Swing at a Time’ Golf Tournament on Friday, April 25, at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan, located at 3007 Dehesa Road, El Cajon, 92019. This annual event, sponsored in part by Sycuan Casino Resort, s the nonprofit’s mission of adopting dogs from local shelters and training them as service dogs for post-9/11 veterans experiencing PTSD, TBI, Military Sexual Trauma, or other injuries related to their service, according to a news release.

Attendees will enjoy an afternoon of golf on the beautiful Willow Glen Golf Course, complete with games, competitions, and prizes for all skill levels. Registration will open at 10 a.m. before a shotgun start at 12 p.m. The event includes a boxed sandwich lunch, sponsored seltzers, beers, and select cocktails, as well as event-branded hats and polos, swag bags, and a post-tournament dinner buffet.

Proceeds from this event directly the shelter dogs and veterans served by the Shelter to Soldier programs. On average, 17 U.S. veterans and one active-duty service member are lost to suicide every day and 1,800 dogs a day are lost to euthanasia. Shelter to Soldier, whose tagline is “Saving Lives, Two at a Time,” is dedicated to reducing these statistics in every way they can. They bring trained rescue dogs together with wounded veterans to help both recover and move forward through their psychiatric service dog training program.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are currently available.  Ticket prices are $310 per individual golfer and $1,200 for a foursome. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.sheltertosoldier.org.
