Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan are on the road again, or soon will be, as they prepare for their second consecutive edition together of Nelson’s annual Outlaw Music Festival. The 2024 edition included superb performances by both music legends last summer at the tour’s stop at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista.
Review: Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan provide stellar night at San Diego concert
Perhaps coincidentally, the second date on the 10th anniversary Outlaw Music Festival will be May 15 at the same Chula Vista venue, following the May 13 opening show at Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre. The opening acts for the first leg of the new tour include Billy Strings, mandolin wiz Sierra Hull and Lily Meola.
Two other California dates are included in the itinerary, May 16 at the Hollywood Bowl and May 18 at Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland.
This will be Dylan’s first tour since the Dec. 25 opening of “A Complete Unknown,” which stars Timothée Chalamet portraying Dylan at the start of his music career. It remains to be seen if the film will draw many young concert attendees whose introduction to Dylan came through the film.
Tickets for the May 15 Chula Vista Outlaw Music Festival concert in Chula Vista are priced from $39.50 to $199.50, plus service fees. They will go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m. at livenation.com and ticketmaster.com.
A presale for Citi card will start Tuesday at 10 a.m. It will be followed by at least nine other presales, a full list of which is available online at: livenation.com/venue/KovZpa2WZe/north-island-credit-union-amphitheatre-events.
