A woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI Sunday in El Cajon after being involved in a collision that killed a motorcyclist, El Cajon police said.

The collision was reported just before 4:15 p.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Shady Lane.

According to police, the motorcycle, which was carrying a 41-year-old male driver and female juvenile enger, collided with a Chevrolet Suburban after the SUV turned in front of it.

Emergency medical personnel provided treatment to the driver but he died at the scene. The enger was transported to Children’s Hospital and is expected to survive.

Their identities are being withheld as family are still being notified.

The driver of the SUV, a 37-year-old woman, and her enger remained at the scene of the collision.

Investigators allegedly found the driver to be “under the influence of a stimulant during the collision,” El Cajon police said in a release. She was booked into Las Colinas Detention Facility on suspicion of DUI.
