Ramona residents can fill a child’s holiday with cheer this year by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy at a Toys for Tots collection event at Ramona Airport.
The Ramona toy drive hosted by the U.S. Marine Corps in conjunction with the county of San Diego is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the airport at 2450 Montecito Road.
“Put smiles on the faces of local kids by dropping off a new toy for a child,” county officials said.

Donations being accepted include toys, bikes, games, dolls, stuffed animals and other things a child can play with that will help brighten up their holidays.
Marines in uniforms will be attending the Toys for Tots event to personally collect the gifts.
Toys for Tots donation boxes are set up at five county airports – Ramona Airport, McClellan Airport in Carlsbad, Gillespie Field in El Cajon, Fallbrook Airpark in Fallbrook, and Borrego Valley Airport in Borrego Springs.
Pilots are welcome to fly in to deliver their donations at the airports.
All donations will be given out to children in San Diego County communities.
