A bicyclist was killed when a woman driving a Volkswagen EOS collided with him in the Black Mountain neighborhood Friday evening, San Diego police said.

The crash happened about 6:50 p.m. at Camino Del Sur and Casey Glen, Officer Jose Perales said.

According to Perales, a 50-year-old woman was headed westbound in a 2015 Volkswagen EOS on Camino Del Sur. At the intersection with Casey Glen, the car went into the bike lane, where it struck a man riding a bike.

The man, who has not been identified, died at the scene. Perales said alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
