Our mission statement

The mission of Meals on Wheels San Diego County is to empower seniors and disabled veterans to remain independent by nourishing their bodies, minds, and spirits.

Our 2025 goals

  • Deliver 1 million meals yearly to meet the needs of our growing senior population.
  • Expand our “More Than a Meal” program providing daily wellness checks and human connection to socially isolated seniors and disabled veterans.
  • Continue partnering with San Diego County to reach more homebound seniors in rural areas.

All of San Diego County, including rural and unincorporated areas.

Fundraising events

Our 2025 Gala will be held May 31 at Kona Kai San Diego Resort. Embark on a “Deep Sea Odyssey” with us — an evening of ocean-inspired elegance dedicated to ing San Diego seniors. Calling all volunteers

By volunteering to deliver meals for Meals on Wheels you help ensure seniors remain independent. Our volunteers do so much more than just delivering nutritious meals. They provide social interaction for homebound seniors, conduct critical safety checks and make vital human connections with seniors and disabled veterans. Donation opportunities

Year-round is needed to ensure no senior experiences hunger or isolation. We invite you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of seniors and disabled veterans. A few of the ways to give include:

  • Monthly Giving. Recurring gifts provide a steady source of income to help subsidize over 2,000 meals per month.
