Our mission statement

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego is to inspire and enable youth to achieve academic success, build good character and responsible citizenship and make healthy lifestyle choices.

Our 2025 goals

In 2025, we will launch our prototype “Club of the Future.” The Club of the Future is a fun, interactive space that focuses on building skills and preparing our for the future. It will include a Makers Space, STEM lab, Exergames and much more. Best practices and lessons learned from the prototype will be shared with other sites in future years as we transform all of our sites into the Club of the Future. We remain committed to offering quality programs that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles and character development.

The areas we serve

We operate 23 community-based sites throughout San Diego County. Our service area is over 2,000 square miles from National City to Borrego Springs.

Fundraising events

  • Little Jumps Big Changes – Feb. 1 to 28, 2025
  • Borrego Springs Golf Classic – Feb. 21, 2025 at de Anza Desert Country Club
  • Don Coryell Charity Golf Classic – June 20, 2025 at Steele Canyon Golf Club
  • An Evening of Changing Lives – Sept. 13, 2025 at Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina

Calling all volunteers

We offer a variety of individual and group volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are needed to help lead programs, fundraisers, and for one-time projects. Please note that opportunities may have time/day restrictions and require background checks.

Donation opportunities

While hip costs are low for families to attend our Clubs, it costs our organization much more to put one youth through our programs. In 2023, we awarded scholarships valued at $382,152, and 86% of donations went to program services. We offer several ways to our organization through donations, matching gifts, giving societies, in-kind services, and planned giving. Visit sdyouth.org and click on Ways to Give to find out more.
