UPDATED:

A pedestrian was struck and killed Wednesday night by a hit-and-run driver in the Midway District, San Diego police said.

The 40-year-old woman was walking in a crosswalk on Camino Del Rio West at Kurtz Street about 9:30 p.m. when she was hit by a northbound vehicle, police said. The driver had a green light, and the pedestrian had a red signal when she crossed, police said.

The driver, described only as being in a dark-colored vehicle, fled.

The pedestrian’s name was not released.

The crash is under investigation.
