UPDATED:

The unseasonably chilly weather San Diego County has experienced since Monday will last through Halloween.

Thursday’s overnight temperatures will drop into the mid-50s in coastal areas and the mid-40s generally east of Interstate 15, the National Weather Service said. A few inland spots will be even colder.

A new low pressure system is moving into the Pacific Northwest and will spread clouds and cool air throughout Southern California. But the air will be dry as San Diego finishes a largely rain-free October.

The region also will have gotten through the month without experiencing a major, widespread Santa Ana wind event, which is unusual.

Thursday night’s projected low temperatures:

Julian, 38

Fallbrook, 45

Escondido, 46

El Cajon, 46

San Marcos, 47

Otay Ranch, 49

Borrego Springs, 49

San Ysidro, 51

Oceanside, 53

San Diego, 54
