History: St. Thomas leads 2-1

Toreros notes: USD’s defense is sometimes its best offense. The Toreros have scored five defensive touchdowns, the most in the FCS despite having two byes. Senior receiver Ja’seem Reed leads the conference in receiving TDs (five), receiving yards (557) and receptions per game (7.3).

Tommies notes: St. Thomas is not explosive offensively, averaging just 258.4 yards per game. Their most dangerous player is running back Hope Adebayo, who averages 72.5 yards per game. Adebayo scored the winning TD on a 16-yard run in the Tommies’ 20-14 overtime win at USD last season. The hosts are one of three unbeaten teams in Pioneer Football League play — Drake and Dayton the others.
