UPDATED:

The annual BirdStock Music Festival was back in Bird Rock on Oct. 19 and for the first time closed part of La Jolla Boulevard for the day.

The free event assembled musicians, merchants and activities on the boulevard between Midway Street and Camino de la Costa.

Attractions included pickleball, an additional stage, mini golf, face painting, balloon animals and bounce houses, as well as the Kid Zone’s “Kid Nook,” featuring live readings from authors of children’s books.

Proceeds from BirdStock benefit Bird Rock Elementary School and future BirdStock festivals. ♦
