Marine, 22, dies after crashing motorcycle on Oceanside street

He was riding near Avenida Del Oro and Old Grove Road about 6:20 p.m. when he lost control while ing a vehicle at a high rate of speed, police said.

A 22-year-old active-duty Marine was killed Tuesday evening when he crashed his motorcycle while trying to another vehicle on an Oceanside street, police said.

The rider was riding on Avenida Del Oro near Old Grove Road shortly before 6:20 p.m. when he lost control while ing a vehicle at a high rate of speed and was ejected from his 2024 Kawasaki Ninja sport bike , police said.

The man suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital. He suffered cardiac arrest and died a short time later, police said.

The name of the man was not released pending notification of his family. Police said he was stationed at Camp Pendleton.
