The Point Loma Assembly celebrated the 110th anniversary of its Talbot Street clubhouse Sept. 14.

The Assembly, the first women’s civic organization in Point Loma, held its first meeting in the building on Sept. 21, 1914, after three months of construction.

The group still meets monthly to promote literacy and social, educational, philanthropic, civil and artistic work in the community.

The building also is the home of Point Loma Playhouse.

The anniversary party included food, a bar and music by the Gatsby Gang Jazz Band.
