Duke’s La Jolla, established in 2015 on its perch overlooking The Cove at 1216 Prospect St., continues to deliver the spirit of aloha to diners taking in its Hawaiian-style fare.
As one of six Duke’s restaurants (three in Hawaii and three in Southern California), the La Jolla location offers weekday lunch, daily dinner and weekend brunch, plus tropical drinks at the Barefoot Bar and live entertainment.

The first Duke’s restaurant opened in the 1980s on Kauai, and they all pay homage to Duke Kahanamoku, a six-time Olympic medalist in swimming and a legendary surfer who is said to have pioneered modern surfing.
The La Jolla Light asked the following questions of Mary Watson, events manager and community relations coordinator for Duke’s La Jolla, to find out more.
