
Ponyboy restaurant comes to Point Loma’s Pearl Hotel
Ponyboy, a restaurant and bar named for the lead character in S.E. Hinton’s 1967 novel “The Outsiders,” is opening this summer at The Pearl Hotel at 1410 Rosecrans St. in Point Loma, replacing Charles + Dinorah.
The menu will feature dishes popular in the 1950s and ’60s, with fondue, ambrosia salad, tuna casserole, cherries jubilee and mint juleps.
The restaurant will be run by new hospitality group Service Animals, including creative director Ian Ward and culinary director Danny Romero.

New Liberty Station market runs through September
A new market at Liberty Station in Point Loma offers goods and services from artists, small businesses and other local vendors.
The monthly market, a collaboration of San Diego’s Good Faith gallery and the Arts District at Liberty Station, will next be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sundays, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15, in the North Promenade at 2848 Dewey Road.

Arts District welcomes new tenants
Two new tenants opened recently in the Arts District at Liberty Station in Point Loma.
Hawaii Fluid Art, in Barracks 15 at 2750 Historic Decatur Road, offers artists of every skill level a chance to explore new artistic techniques and offers experiences for the public, including classes in fluid art, glass painting, hat patching and more.
