Re “Internship for daughter of San Diego mayor’s top aide raies questions about city’s nepotism policy, recruitment” (June 9): Nepotism aside, how is the daughter of a civil servant pulling down a six-figure salary and who attends a private university back east (tuition $65,000 a year) eligible for “a state program aimed at exposing underserved youths [sic] to potential careers in public service”? What this article really exposes is what a scam these state handouts are.
