Re “Years after initial reports, county jail deaths and cover-up of details still the norm” (May 9): After too many misdeeds and tragedies, it is time for some individual, or some organization, to come forward and put together a well-designed campaign to create an amendment to the California Constitution to have county sheriffs report to their county Board of Supervisors.
