A “seal-elebrities” tote bag is among new items being sold to help raise money for the La Jolla Village Merchants Association.
UPDATED:

An apparel line featuring harbor seals like those found in La Jolla has officially been rolled out, with one local retailer already displaying and selling the merchandise.

The La Jolla Village Merchants Association board recently ordered 19 items — from lip balm to beach tote bags — featuring an image of an adult seal and a juvenile and the words “The real seal-ebrities of La Jolla.”

The items are being sold at Blue Apparel in The Village, though LJVMA Executive Director Jodi Rudick said any local retailer can sell them.

The merchandise is part of an ongoing LJVMA effort to raise money and provide something for tourists who come to La Jolla to see local wildlife. ◆
