Re “The great journey north: Thousands arrive in San Diego County for an ultimate hiking challenge” (May 5): Kudos to the author, Maura Fox, on the well-written article. She symbolically took me along on a “bucket list” adventure I’ve had in the back of my mind since I first heard of the Pacific Coast Trail. I’m now an octogenarian and this brilliant piece is the closest I’ll come to experiencing the journey. How refreshing to see this article where it was a welcome break from the depressing political news of the day.
