At Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Specialists, the name pretty much says it all. And in 2023, the business expanded from the desert to the coast, opening a new office in La Jolla.
To find out more, the La Jolla Light asked the following questions of licensed and certified physician assistant Brittany Denue, who has been part of the team since it began seven years ago and has extended her services to the La Jolla office.
Q. When and how did the business start?
A. Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Specialists was founded in Palm Desert in 2017 by husband-and-wife duo Dr. Natalie Driessen, a board-certified plastic surgeon, and Dr. Michael Messina, a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon [a procedure used to treat skin cancer].

Q. What services do you offer?
A. We offer full medical and cosmetic dermatology services. We accept insurance for medical dermatology visits, which include full-body skin exams, acne services, rashes, eczema, biopsies, liquid nitrogen freezing, skin cancer, Mohs surgery and more. Our cosmetic services include botox, fillers, a wide range of lasers such as IPL [intense pulsed light therapy], hair removal and skin resurfacing, thread lifts, radio-frequency treatments, chemical peels, body contouring, microneedling and much more.

A. The opening of our La Jolla location has been the biggest addition to our business within the past six months and we are thrilled to offer our services to the La Jolla community.
