
Yes, there are beaches, but south of Cabrillo Point, the waters are a soup of bacteria and pathogens. The city of San Diego’s homeless population continues to be out of control, like many other cities. The border can’t be reliably controlled from unauthorized migrants. The train track route is unreliable, because we are not like the Swiss, who gritted their teeth to build tunnels for their reliable rail system. The Big Bay Boom is still being staged, despite the air pollution it brings. The Police Department can’t seem to muster enough officers for street duty. The ballpark is so expensive that only rich fans actually can afford to attend games. The city muffed it, not so long ago, when council didn’t cap all city geographical areas to just 5 percent or 10 percent vacation rentals. Published data for big cities says that San Diego is definitely not America’s Finest City.
