Re “SANDAG facing probe by federal agents” (March 29): Wow! SANDAG, which has a $1.3 billion budget, is under investigation by the feds. Management’s indifference to auditors and their reports has been the norm for years. Questions were raised in 2020 about then-CEO Hasan Ikhrata’s management practices and his indifference to oversight. He may be gone, but the incompetence obviously continues. SANDAG officials have been incapable of fulfilling their duties to San Diego on so many levels. Freeway expansion should be their primary focus, not high-speed rail. SANDAG, which can’t keep track of the money it already has, has a ballot measure calling for a half-cent sales tax increase this November. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
