Division 3: (1) Mt. Carmel (24-7) vs. (2) Temecula Chaparral (25-5), 11 a.m.

Preview: Senior Sophia Woodard paces Mt. Carmel, which vies in the finals for the second straight year. The Sundevils again entered the SoCal playoffs as a CIF San Diego Section champion. They won Division 2 section crown this season after taking the D-3 title a year ago. In the SoCal final last year, Mt. Carmel fell to Torrey Pines 8-5 in an all-local matchup. The Sundevils reached this year’s title contest with a 13-9 semifinal victory over No. 4 Palisades.

Division 2: (4) Clairemont (19-10) vs. (3) San Clemente (27-8), 12:30 p.m.

Preview: Clairemont has reached the final in its first SoCal regional appearance over the six-year history of the event The Chieftains advanced by topping top-seeded Alta Loma 9-8 in the semifinals. Sparked by Kylie Sagastume, Clairemont won fifth place in the San Diego Section Open Division game to qualify for the regional playoffs. The Chieftains went 4-4 in powerful City Western League during the regular season.
