Brian Brown Studio is unveiling a new showroom in Hillcrest that showcases its founder’s fresh, upscale California style.

“Interior design…changes your life and family dynamic,” said Brown, the studio’s namesake and principal designer. “We try to make a healthy home for healthy people.”

As a lifelong “creative” Brown says he made several career changes before studying interior design at the Design Institute of San Diego. Since launching his own design firm in 2012, Brown’s projects have reflected his love of natural elements, clean design and respect for the “natural beauty of California.”

Relocating from their previous space in Liberty Station, Brown and his team have taken that refined approach to the historic Design Center building in Hillcrest designed by architect Lloyd Ruocco.

Brown’s new 2,700 square-foot showroom is nestled on the building’s second floor, enveloped by greenery. The space features Fisher & Paykel luxury appliances, Brizo products and “top-end design furnishings” not found anywhere else in San Diego.

The new showroom will carry home goods created by national and international designers, as well as many of Brown’s own designs. Later this year, he is set to launch a namesake collection of upholstery goods including sofas and sectionals that will be available at the showroom and online. Brown said the collection is casual, upscale, and cozy, with beautiful pieces that are “minimal but livable.”

The designer also has his own coffee brand with beans from Coastal Coffee Collective in Santa Barbara. Three blends are available at the showroom: Ebb Tide (espresso), Midnight Tide (medium roast) and Sunrise at Sunset Cliffs (light roast).

Brian Brown Studio & Showroom is at 3611 Fifth Avenue.
