Crooner John Lloyd Young, who won a Tony portraying Frankie Valli on Broadway, takes his talents to Hillcrest

UPDATED:

Singer and actor John Lloyd Young will croon classic hits from the ‘50s and ‘60s — from rock ‘n’ roll, doo-wop and rhythm and blues standards. Along with songs from his debut album, “My Turn,” the show features classics like “Sherry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,” “In the Still of the Night” as well as covers of Roy Orbison, The Platters, Righteous Brothers, Paul McCartney, Adele, Luther Vandross, Little Anthony, Elvis and Tom Jones tunes. Young won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in the “Jersey Boys” on Broadway, as well as a Grammy for Best Cast Album. He also starred in the Clint Eastwood-directed film version of the musical, which began at La Jolla Playhouse.
